So on day one of the David Paterson reign.....as governor of New York after Eliot Spitzer left....we learned that Dave had not been faithful or honest. He had this affair. So we could understand his brave honesty. So on day two.....we learned that Dave admitted that he'd had a number of affairs....not one or two. So today...we learned that Dave had paid for alot of these women.....having sex at the local Motel Six operation.....with cheap hookers (the $100 gals, not the $2600 gals that Spitzer had). Course.....Dave is blind and maybe looks don't count for much. But then we learned that he might have used campaign funds or campaign credit cards..to cover "personal expenses"....which means he violated some laws....and I'm guessing he will start to feel heat.
The problem here.....is that Senator Joe Bruno....Republican and the chief state senator....and basically the guy who would step up next if Dave has to resign....really doesn't want to leave his cushy job. Joe is happy....and got the cops happy....the fire department guys happy....the union guys....the bus drivers....etc. Joe would be very upset to settle into a job with no real power.
Dave has made this a bit of a problem now. A number of New Yorkers were happy to see Eliot leave....but the idea of more closets opening up and more guys having their hookers on national TV....disturbs some folks. Course....this is New York....not Bama. Maybe Dave will shut up at this point....and all the hookers will just quietly go back to doing the regular business....and New York can fix itself. Maybe.
