I finished up my trip to Germany, and have returned. One of the key events of the evening of 31 December...for all Germans....is to watch Dinner for One. It's a 10-minute skit performed in the early 1950s by a British comedy duo, and has apparently stuck to the Germans as part of their tradition. You have to watch it at least once on the 31st, and it's probably played on every state-run channel at least once. I've watched it about twenty times and would actually like to see it played by some modern comedians but no one would ever do that. Enjoy.
