What Vision Does NBC Have For A Rockford Files 'Reboot'?

I paused over this reading in the AM.  NBC says 'go'....produce a season of Rockford Files  for September.

Will 'Rocky' (dad) be a alcoholic in this version?

Will Evelyn "Angel" Martin (played by Stuart Margolin) still be Jim's scheming former cellmate and con artist buddy?  Or will he be a Trans-lady?

Will Beth Davenport (played by Gretchen Corbett) as Jim's lawyer be crazy-crazy?

Will the show revolve entirely around LA corruption?

My vision....just use the 1980s version and don't screw up the basic storyline.

Humble Observations Over ICE/Arrests

 1.  I've probably watched 150 clips of car 'action' where the driver was told to exit...wouldn't....ICE guys broke the glass.  Half were migrants....but the rest were mostly women (say 6 to 1 over males).

Glass repair guys are probably getting a ton of calls....coming ahead.

2.  Once you've been in a ICE-broke-my-window situation....dealing with issues....your frustration level will double.

ICE, after yanking you out and carrying your car downtown....call the tow-service for your vehicle, and it's taken to a yard (figure the tow, and storage...being near $300).

Then you talk to your husband/spouse, and they ask if this were really necessary.

3. Lawyer fees and fine?

Figure around $1k for the lawyer fee....if you just admit you were stupid.  The fine?   Figure up around $2k to $5k. If you fight it....figure 30 to 90 days in a fed-jail.  If you tried to ram ICE?  Figure 6 months in fed-jail.

4. Bail bondsmen?

Nine out of ten of these  idiot have never been arrested or put into a bail-situation.....so getting 'Larry' (the husband) or cousin Wanda to bail you out....might require some talking.

5. After you've been arrested and convicted....say for ramming....this conviction  sticks with you and will be a job-problem (most HR folks will ask questions).

Functionally Illiterate?

Someone did a survey of the Philadelphia area....over functional literacy.  Fifty-two percent of residents are functional illiterate.

Then they went to the second listing....saying that 62-percent of residents function at the 6th-grade level or less.

I paused over the numbers.

It kinda means that of a hundred people finishing high school....the majority are probably only able to handle to the 6th or 7th grade level of comprehension.  Yeah, I'm suggesting near three-quarters of society.

The question to ask....can these people even handle voting?

Across the US....like this?  I wonder about that.

My question would go to the next level....of college-graduates...how many function as marginally literate (say the 9th grade level)?
