So, I sat and reviewed the video.....FEMA had gone out and bought in one particular area....around a dozen to twenty electric chainsaws.....for an area that had ZERO power.
Maybe if you had a portable generator....it'd make sense, but based on chatter out of western North Carolina....I'd take a humble guess that only 10-percent of folks have a electric generator in their possession.
Why buy a electric chainsaw?
I suspect the FEMA person here....young and inexperienced....was told of a 'need' and just walked into a Wal-Mart....using their Government-Purchase-Card, and spent around $4k for these chainsaws. The person knows little about electrical outages, or chainsaws themselves.
Where will the useless chainsaws end up? Unknown.
Just another element of useless government funding.

Just one more thing that make FEMA look like fools.
Use all that wind power you had stored up when the hurricane hit.
