So, I sat and reviewed the video.....FEMA had gone out and bought in one particular area....around a dozen to twenty electric chainsaws.....for an area that had ZERO power.
Maybe if you had a portable generator....it'd make sense, but based on chatter out of western North Carolina....I'd take a humble guess that only 10-percent of folks have a electric generator in their possession.
Why buy a electric chainsaw?
I suspect the FEMA person here....young and inexperienced....was told of a 'need' and just walked into a Wal-Mart....using their Government-Purchase-Card, and spent around $4k for these chainsaws. The person knows little about electrical outages, or chainsaws themselves.
Where will the useless chainsaws end up? Unknown.
Just another element of useless government funding.
