Some science group came out and urged Americans to halt the use AC units. I paused over the subject.
My dad was the first generation in family to have both AC in cars, and homes...plus the Post Office. I was in the group that had 'some' use of AC (at least after 1977). Our rural school had a AC unit in each room, but they were determined not to use it because of energy cost and noise.
My Air Force period? I was shocked in boot-camp.....we had a fantastic modern building.
Most of my barracks? I'd say 75-percet had ZERO AC.
Life here in Germany? I have a roll-around AC unit and most years....I might run it 12 to 15 days a summer. This year? None....it was so moderate.
So I view this urging of Americans to give up their AC....as a lost cause. You'd have to adapt your clothing style....go to gym shorts....plain t-shirts, and wide use of fans. Ice coolers loaded with beer? Yeah.
Asking the Gen-Z folks to give up? That might be interesting to watch.
