What Is Psychosis?

Well....you start to think or perceive things, which aren't real (call it hallucinations) o you start to believe things....which simply aren't true (delusions).

I sat and viewed a podcast recently, and came to realize....probably a quarter of the American population....fits into this problem.

How you notice these folks?

Typically, it goes to five things: first, you start to screw up at work.  Second, you start to lose your concentration.  Third, you are both uneasy and skeptical of just about everything around you.  Fourth, you only chat with certain people....who mostly identify with your version of reality.  Finally, you start to notice that you have maximum emotions on things which would usually be one-star events.

Drugs a part of this?  I'd say it contributes, but a lot of folks go off on this tangent....without any drug-help.

Two Unique Experiences Yesterday

I went to a Air Force clinic....which is a rare thing for me these days.  Last trip?  Maybe five years ago.

So to the first experience.....the bathroom visit.  I needed a brief stop at a bathroom, and stepped into a stall to do my business.  When I finished....I reached for the toilet paper....to realize it's not your normal regular Air Force or Army toilet paper situation.

Here was some ultra modern dispenser, which only allowed you to 'pluck' one single sheet at a time, and it was moist in some odd way (feeling oily). I probably spent a good 90 seconds admiring the technology involved, then it hit me.....it had to be double or triple the cost of plain old regular toilet paper.

Yes, I did eventually wipe myself, and it did take several 'yanks' of toilet paper sheets to accomplish this.

Second experience....having to deal with Sergeant so-and-so on these 25-odd questions.

Do I feel happy?  If I were suicidal?  My consumption rate of alcohol.  At some point, she handed me a list of seven medical words and asked me to pronounce them.....to which I looked at the terms and admitted to myself....five of the seven I'd seen in my life, but never verbally pronounced them.

She did apologize toward the end.....the Air Force medical empire mandated the questions to be asked.  Me repeating this?  No.....there's zero chance I'll entertain them a second time on the stupid questions.

Note: If some person was suicidal.....they would not be crazy enough to admit this to some stranger at a medical clinic, unless they were on their 3rd or 4th cocktail.
