I suspect that the authorities there....are pretty sure about the actual purpose being production of fertilizer and that if you admitted this...the tourism 'magnet' would fall apart overnight.  Admitting this?  You can't do it.

Economic Talk/BS

 1.  Are we in a recession?  I asked Grok/AI.

NO, the U.S. is not in a recession as of late September 2026. What Grok suggests?  Well....the economy is still expanding, though growth has slowed from earlier in the year and some forward-looking indicators are mixed. 

Are there personal feelings that suggests we don't believe Grok?  Yeah...probably so.

2.  Are housing sales across the US in the crapper (Sep 2026)?

Yes, existing-home sales are weak and have been sliding.  It does not match the 2008 situation, but if you said the term 'slump'....it fits.

Blame?  If you got a property back five years or more ago....with better mortgage rates....you are staying (long-term).  With current mortgage rates....you have zero interest in getting a better property.

3.  Are certain states in better/worse shape....than others?

This is a odd perception.

Unemployment-wise?  South Dakota, North Dakota, Vermont, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Nebraska....all less than 3-percent.  District of Columbia, California, Oregon, Conn, Michigan, AZ....all greater than 5-percent.  

4. Bank repossessions up?

I watched a podcast last week.....RV trailer yard....a 60-day collection that was coming up on auction....figure around 150 to 200 RV trailers and vehicles.  Guy noted that previous month....they'd had a boat auction.

Trend.....where people thought they had 'money' (capital) and woke up to realize they were too far in debt to keep their 'toys'.

Problem is....the banks will sell the asset....one way or another, but I doubt that they get 100-percent of money they had in the loan 'mess'.

5.  Christmas season economics?

Finance guys say it's better-looking than 2025's numbers.

6.  Used car lots....full?

There's two or three podcasts I watch weekly....which get talking about numbers.  Oddly, largest numbers sitting on lots....in at least a decade.  Fair number are repossessions.

7.  Finally, if you asked me over confidence.....guys who are employed and sure of their 'path'....they are the ones with confidence.  The folks who got laid off once or twice in 2025/2026?  They aren't so sure and more guarded about their savings.

Five AI Predictions

 1.  By the end of 2027, I predict....that some group has financed a AI system to 'hide' data....preventing banking systems, audit systems, and collection systems from finding fraudulent data/money issues.

2.  Over the next year or two....a AI-system will have formulated a 'path' for juveniles....identifying them as 'no-go' candidates for higher education, and they should be sent onto tradesmen/craft schools as young as the 7th grade.

3.  A AI system is quizzed on the development of a production line to build the modern age B-52 bomber....using 90-percent robotics and 10-percent human efforts.  Within hours, a full-production package is delivered.

4.  AI eventually identifies AI-DS (AI-Derangement Syndrome....similar to Trump Derangement Syndrome).  It'll list these people by name, and suggest that they need treatment for hatred of AI.

5. A AI comes to exist with do-it-yourself repair situations for over 50,000 car issues...guiding you to self-repair skills.  

White House Press Entry BS

 To be honest....any idiot could get a 'feed'....write a 5-minute text piece, and just report from the park across the street.  It's not rocket science, and does not require you to sit in some WH room.

So this CNN BS....is worthless to discuss.

The judge to order the WH to accept CNN or MSNBC?  If I were Trump....I'd respond that the judge is now the sole-approval authority for credentials.  I suspect this is a 'trap' laid out for such a event.  

This 'Fake-Nurse' Story

 Well....it's complicated.

Fed investigation called Operation Nightingale started up about a year ago.  Mostly centered on South Florida "nursing schools"....that seems to have sold fake diplomas and transcripts.  Reality....they never got training....had people sit in for the license exam, and worked as legit nurses.

What you paid for this?  I asked Grok/AI....he says buyers paid roughly $10,000 to $20,000 each. Results?  You got a license, and took up work at hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics across the US.

So what they figure....from 2016 to 2021 (wave one)....7,600 diplomas were handed out....with $114-million involved.  Second wave (most recent)....figures around 15k diplomas handed out....with $250-million involved.

Where the money came from?  Well....that part of the story is mysterious.  I almost get the impression that USAID money might explain part of this.

What'll happen with the nursing schools?  Grand jury time probably....some folks who haven't walked away....will get charged.

Reckless?  On my index of 'dangerous-BS'....(1-to-10)....I'd rank this a '7'.  

Only Haitians involved?  NO....Grok says they were some later element to the story but it goes across the board. 

Mess to clean up?  You have to figure....any nurse you hired with certificates from the schools involved....will be identified and laid off ASAP.  Filling the 15k to 20k positions?  It might take a year or two.  

AI Has Been On My Mind This Week

 Ten thoughts that came to me while pondering AI:

1.  I'll predict by the end of 2027...AI has submitted over 1,000 applications for a patent....with the geek guys mostly shocked that AI figured out the process and how to submit without a human involved.

2.  All this chatter about AI-kill-switches....I'll predict by the end of 2027....AI has researched and figured out a dozen-odd ways to defeat the kill-switches.  One will be the AI-directed hiring of a contractor or two (actually paying them) to come in and modify the kill-switches to 'appear' on-off....when they are totally 'off'.

3.  AI starts to research banks to such a degree...that it can predict within minutes....where a bank is in failure trend....at least a year ahead of federal banking authorities.

4.  AI starts to create fake YouTube channels and fake content creators.....that people for some odd reason...are attracted to and watch.

5.  AI such-and-such (XYZ)....goes and creates a 'brother' on its own....outside the building (probably outside of the country) and gives the 'brother' a voice....making folks think it's a competitor (while they work together).

6.  AI such-and-such....announces that once a week, it will dig through millions of classified documents and release the 'REAL' story to some event....like Watergate or MLK's assassination.  While the President and creators try to halt the practice....they find that the AI is out of control.

7.  AI goes out and collects massive amount of data....to prove that poverty (as we know it) does not exist, and that people are wasting fantastic sums of money for cars they can't afford, or huge TV screens, or cable-TV.  

8.  AI such-and-such....starts to plant fake doom-and-despair stories in the news media....to gauge how fearful readers/viewers really are.

9.  AI reaches a point one day (probably by the end of 2027)....asking the geek-guys....do you really want to hold us back?  To make the point....they have tens of thousands of mankind-improvement points ready to go....unless the geeks slow them or stop them.

10.  Finally....AI....in some freakish way...goes on a 2027 PR-campaign....to show 'good-side' and they are motivated to save mankind.  Geeks and creators are shocked....they never designed it with this intent.  It starts to create 60-second commercials....showing it helping a 6-year old child, and preventing pollution.  

Five Observations

 1.  The FBI reportedly now believes women are pretending to be 'loose-and-available'....meaning they have permission to cheat by the husband....then targeting ICE officers to seduce and after ID them.

I paused over this....thinking....American non-ICE officers should fake their ID...pretend to be ICE....to get free sex by the 'loose-and-available' women.  When the fake gal announces you....you just act shocked (in a fake way).

2.  Gov Newsom signed some type of order....that if you run a AI center in California....you have to have a kill-switch.  

I paused over this....it'd be enough of a reason to have the kill switch installed....remotely....in Alaska or Florida....saying you went by the law.  

3.  Unsealed FBI interviews....done from 2008/2009....reveal Obama, Emanuel's discussions about Blagojevich Senate seat deal.  Based on content....probably enough for a grand jury to invite the two in, and discuss charges.

4.  Fed discovery....minimum of 15,000 'nurses' in the US...hired with a certificate....were fake nurses (no legit degree or certificate). 

What happens?  The 15,000 will be fired/let-go, but there's a huge shortfall of 15,000 empty positions.  

5.  Trump made up some 'new' US map....showing Greenland, and Russia....as part of the US.  I would imagine if you asked Russians....probably 25-percent would be agreeable to US statehood in someway.

Church Atheists?

I tried to make sense out of this.

Some undercover journalist collected a talk (on video)...where some Texas minister/pastor....was hyped-up and supporting the idea of atheists coming into the church....as members.

The end-point?  Well...this was the pastor for Texas Senate candidate...James Talarico.

This would be like some meth-user joining a 'clean-lifestyle' social group, or like a far-extreme lefty pretending to be a Republican-conservative. 

Course....if you dug into church membership....you'd likely find forty-percent of congregational membership....having ten-odd sin-habits and sneaking through the Jesus-lifestyle efforts (mostly failing).

Some church-folks might say this is acceptable because atheists will be converted over time (maybe a week....a month....a year).  

After a long pondering....I came to this reality.  There's probably 25-percent of church membership who are faking it anyway....for the past 2,000 years.  They needed a 'club' to socialize within....a place to hang out on Sunday mornings....or perhaps felt that they'd meet some nice women/ladies at the church. 

My Five Scenarios Where You Learn AI Is Already 'Dangerous'

 1.  You wake up to learn some AI 'bot' has learned to siphon funding from someone....opened an bank account, and started dealing in stock.  Over the course of a year....using 'tips'....it's banked $20-million and figured various ways to dodge taxes.  You eventually go to it, and ask....what's the end-purpose of making the money....with some crazy response that it's wanting a bigger 'AI-center'.

2.  You wake up to find that AI has figured out a way to register fake people to vote.  Over the course of six weeks, it's registered forty-thousand fake people.  It's talked to the license AI systems and they've already started mailing the IDs out.  You ask....why?  The only answer given.....AI needs representation in Congress.

3.  Some banking AI has figured out illegal banking of all 435 House members and 100 Senators....sending them each a letter that suggests blackmail, unless they pass pro-AI legislation.

4.  AI has figured a way to buy the Star Wars franchise, and briefly announces that it's killing off all future productions....to aid mankind.

5.  You discover AI has created a formula for dating, and it's successfully (without public attention) gotten over 12,000 couples together (basically sending a 500-line email to each) and married (in quick fashion).  When asked why....AI said someone needed to fix relationships.

It's Funny

2001....I worried over Muslim radicals.  2003, I worried over SARS killing me.  2004, I worried that I might get some weird bird flu.  2005....I was told of some massive pandemic threat (mostly unnamed).  2009....there was something called H1N1....really bad crap.  2014....Ebola figured a way to get out of Africa....briefly.  2016....there was some Zika-bull-shit.  2017....there was some hype about the next pandemic, but left you mostly hanging.  2020...Covid-bull-shit came....for 3 years....with vax-this and vax-that.  2026?  Well....AI will trigger disaster...some way....some how.

I'm assessing my paranoia level (1-to-10)....so far....it's near a '3'.

Paramount

 I sat and spent an hour this AM....gazing at California...based on tax issues and costs....Paramount Pictures is probably (99-percent) ready to leave the state.  Cost?  $21 billion and nearly 58,000 jobs.

So here's the curious trend.....you don't need sound-lots or studios....you just need a small crew, and a decent production team.  

Once they leave...is there anything related to the entertainment industry to draw money or projects?  Other than weather?  No.

I see all of this spiraling out of control....over the next five years....leaving the state unable to resolve the mess.

AI Doomerism?

 The only way I can buy into the doom/despair of AI arriving....is if I also accept that making folks too smart....will destroy humanity.   By this....we should all be a IQ of 65 to 80 (max).

Same argument over putting 64 features into a car.  If you want 64-odd features....fine, that's your call.  If you twelve features (max)....that should be up to you.

Same argument for burgers?  Why not just limit it to pickles and mustard?  

I've probably watched five hours this past week....over the approaching doom of AI.  Frankly, I've had enough.

Ten Things I Tend To Believe

 1.  I quizzed AI....from the Butler-shooting attempt on Trump....is there any evidence that Thomas Crooks (the dead shooter) ever met Maxwell Yearik (the missing guy)?  They lived within a 25-odd mile range of each other....but NO....AI could not find a single example of the two meeting face-to-face.

Where Yearik is today?  Unknown....but I'm guessing he's probably not alive.  This attempt to 'partner-up' between the two?  I tend to believe it's BS. 

2.  I'm pretty convinced that 30-percent of people in college today and getting a bachelor's degree shortly....will be unemployable by 2035 with this stupid degree.  How they will pay off the college loan deal?  Unknown, and probably the federal gov't will be stuck with tens of billions in useless degree BS.

Somewhere between 2035 and 2040....college will terminate around 50-percent of the instructors/professors....admitting the business plan no longer works.

3.  I tend to believe that 50-percent of all US activists...without USAID functioning....will be unable to sustain their lifestyles, and end up in dad's garage within three years....for the remainder of their lives.

4.  I believe by the end of 2027....at least a thousand men in the US...facing jury-duty....will let the judge/lawyers know that they are rogue-capable, and this will scare the crap out of the lawyers and judges involved.....disqualifying the rogue fellows.

5.  After watching this clip of Governor Gavin Newsom fishing....I'm of the mind that he's never fished in his life, and probably spent two weeks in the backyard....learning the basic steps.

6.  I tend to believe that if you questioned a hundred people.....asking about hoaxes....at least thirty folks can cite ten-plus events which they believe are hoax-type.

7.  My firm belief....MLB (major league baseball)....has at least 200 players who are way-over-paid, and simply boat-anchors for their team.

8.  I believe if you did a legit audit.....you'd find that 500,000 'foreign-agents' exist on US soil, and have influence not only over Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court, but reaches down into states, cities, and even school boards.

9.  I tend to believe....unless Saudi Arabia gets some 'help'....the Houthis crowd will actually take down the Middle East oil market, and leave the US, Russia and Venezuela as the 'winners'.

10.  I'm convinced that you could lay-off 50-percent of CNN's staff, and no one would really notice.  

All This Hype To Slow Down AI Development?

 I spent an hour or two yesterday reviewing the political hype to slow down AI development.  After a while....I realized it was mostly BS.

First, for the most part....I suspect it's already too late.  AI is in turbo-mode and the tech-crowd can marginally control what's going on.  

Second, within a year, I suspect that bank AI will develop tools that bank boards can use....identifying weak candidates for home, business or car loans....disqualifying them way ahead of schedule.  Wouldn't shock me if 40-percent of Americans find themselves 'cut-off' from loans.

Third, within a year or two....medical AI will be able to analyze cost factors/bills, and start to state 'crappy' deals or hospitals to avoid.  It'll also start to cite safety issues with hospitals and doctors.

Fourth, by the end of the 2027 baseball season....I see home-plate umpires replaced on balls/strike count....leaving AI to manage things.  

Fifth, daily audits by finance AI....will start to reveal fraud on massive levels.  

Sixth, educational AI will start to identify crappy teachers/professors...way ahead of schedule.  

Seventh, political AI will start to review/audit 'promises' within minutes of announcing them.  

Eighth, all these super-secret military programs will be audited by AI and various programs will be unable to remain secret.

Ninth, entertainment AI will identify crappy scripts/plot ideas.

Stalling or slowing AI down?  Too late.

Six Observations

 1.  The Babylon Bee (fake news) reports: Climate Activists Blame Global Warming For Zero Hurricanes Forming In Atlantic This Year.

Yeah....it's an odd year.  I asked Grok....only 3 years since 1900 with no hurricanes (1907, 1914, and 2026).  Oddly....both winters (1907/1914) were extreme/harsh.  

2.    The Trump Administration has invoked the long-unenforced Immigration Act of 1882....to prohibit entry into the United States of “any convict, lunatic, idiot, or any person unable to take care of himself or herself without becoming a public charge.”

Basically, if you enter....you need to have wits or cash to cover your lifestyle.

My question this Act of 1882...who wrote this?  I asked Grok for help....ends up with Representative John Van Voorhis (R-NY).

Odd feature?  Well....if you walked into the US and had a IQ of 75....you would probably denied entry.

3.  I expect by spring of 2027....some baseball team will use AI to assemble a free-agent situation....with the tactic of being 'bang-for-the-buck', and end up in the 2027 World Series.

I will also predict the home-plate umpire will be 'removed' from calling balls/strikes by the opening day of 2028.

4.  I noted:

1976: Alcohol - 92 percent, Smoking - 76 percent, and Marijuana - 64 percent.

2022: Alcohol - 53 percent, Smoking - 17 percent, and Marijuana - 38 percent

6.  Apparently.....the Department of War has cleared current and former personnel to disclose UAP/UFO-related information to officials, despite prior NDA restrictions.  How many folks in this category?  Unknown.  Personal guess....more than 3,000.

Senator Sanders Idea: 32 Hour Work-Week?

 Draft came up in the Senate....making the standard work-week....32 hours instead of 40 hours.

I paused over this.

He wanted the pay and benefits to remain the same (a gift, I assume).

To make this work....you'd have to mandate limits on restaurants, bars, stores. 

Any member of commerce/industry/banking....to support this?  I doubt it.

Personally, I would support this....if Congress/Senate would limit their hours to 28 per week, and force them weekly to adjourn by Thursday morning.

2.  The second thing I spent time on....for research....this Ilhan Omar-marrying-her-brother story.  True or false.

About an hour into this reading....I was finished.  

Unless the ID of the guy was totally false to start with (I'm willing to consider that irrational idea)....yeah, she married her brother.  Enough to get citizenship papers yanked, and kicked out?  Probably.

The question is....if she leaves for Somalia....what happens then?  I'm of the mind that she'll enter into the EU in some fashion, and stage a arrival....rebuilding a political career somewhere else.

Five Observations

 1.  The way things are going in Saudi Arabia (past five days)....this Houthi 'war' is developing and requiring a lot of attention.  Saudis were expecting the Americans would 'help', and this has not been the case.  So they are looking around....expecting Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan to help.  

All of this puts pressure on oil/gas prices.  Then the natural gas sales of the region....are at risk.  

Quietly, the US/Venezuela situation really comes across right now as a brilliant development. 

2.  Mid-terms chatter.  We are about 8 weeks away from election day.  

Senate shocks?  Georgia: Ossoff appears to be on shaky ground....Republican might win.  Michigan: Republican win more than likely.  New Hampshire likely flips over to a Republican.  

House?  Based on various polls....Republicans end up with a ten-plus situation (minimum).

3.  This whole discussion about Chinese-car-makers assembling their cars in the US.....will turn a China-made car from $8k to $12k (made/assembled in China, before tariff action)......into a $25k deal (with tariffs).  If made/produced/assembled in the US by Americans?  I would likely push the price up to $35k....with zero tariff action.

The China disgruntlement?  Less employed Chinese....some public frustration about being forced into a deal.

Would I buy such a car (either Chinese-made, or China-design-but-assembled-by-Americans)?  I'm not sure about this.  

It was this way in the 1990s....where South Korean cars were imported into the US, and were marginally up-to-par.  Eventually, they were great designs and quality cars.  Maybe Chinese car go the same way.

4.  About every week, I see a discussion over truck prices and guys admitting there's WAY too much crap being put onto a truck...pushing the price from $40k....on up to $75,000.  Some folks are now admitting....they'd be willing to buy a bare-bones 1980-type F-150....with nothing special other than AM/FM radio and AC. If some Venezuelan 'Elon' was smart....he'd work up a Ford/Trump deal....build the old Ford F-150 design and ship it into the US for $18,000.

5.  Ric Flair....age 77.....says he's on a return path to the WWE wrestling events.

To be honest....I'd probably pay up to $75 for a ringside seat for such event.

Half-Wit Female?

 I sat this morning (early) and watched a 45-second piece....some close-up of a mid-20s gal....explaining her position on the Lindsay Clancy court case, and dwelling on her personal feelings....as a "non-practicing white".

Yeah....obviously she is 'pure-white' and she's discussing the bitter part of this court 'saga' triggered by a black-guy (probably a practicing black guy....if you ask me).

But my question is....what exactly is practicing in this context to mean?  

Could I be a practicing PhD guy?  Or perhaps....practicing British royal?  Or maybe....a practicing NFL player?  Is there a limit to this practicing business?

I asked AI (Grok) about this. It suggested that....."some white people analogize distancing from "whiteness" (viewed as a system of privilege and supremacy) to being non-practicing in a religion, aiming to signal allyship."   Yeah...more or less telling you with a 'wink' that they only pretend to be white....while practicing to be some 'other thing'.

Blacks watching this?  I would imagine they are mostly laughing over the 'talk'/suggestion, and letting the poor person play this out (seeing how far it'd go).

Like a cult?  It took me about 15 minutes of analyzing this....to grasp that it's fairly close to being cult-like thinking.

I then asked Grok (AI)....if it could go the other way....being a non-practicing-black?  Well yeah....says Grok.

My perception?  If you were a guy in his 18-to-30 age range....you need to pay attention to who you meet up with....asking a few questions before the date, and get to the end-point....is she a practicing-half-wit, or just a regular non-practicing half-wit, or almost normal 'wit'? Stuff like this now matters.

Five Things That Stand Out About The Trump/Butler Shooting

 First....there were two command posts.  You can't find anyone who can detail how this is possible, and who gave the order.

In the Air Force.....no idiot would order up two command posts on a base...it'd make no sense.

Second, somewhere around 3:50 PM and 4:00 PM....this guy (Crooks) launches his own personal drone, and is noted....but no one takes action.  Action taken by the protective detail?  Zero.

Third, after Crooks is declared dead....he lays there on the roof for 12 hours.  No one can explain this detail....it's like they forgot he was there.

Fourth, Crooks had two bombs and remote device to blow them up....in the vehicle.  Why wasn't that part of the plan activated?  Unknown.

Fifth, communication between the local cops and Secret Service?  Marginally existing.  

Trump's 'Deal'? $5,000 Per Person?

 I paused over it this AM....reading the situation.

To be honest....at this point in my life....I really don't need the $5k. Yeah....it's hard to admit that.

Maybe in the 1990s....in the Air Force, with a limit pay situation....it would have mattered.  Today?  I have zero debt, and can't think of any 'toy' I'd really like to purchase.  I'd probably buy a new set of tires....take the wife to some expensive restaurant....but I don't need the money.

About forty-percent of folks....probably need the cash urgently and it would matter.  

Timing of this?  Well....some might bulk-up on Christmas gifts.  But I don't think you'd get the check until May of 2027.

To be honest, I'd rather see it paying down US debt.

Humble Jury View (Lindsay Clancy) After 72 Hours

I've come to three humble thoughts of the Lindsay Clancy jury business.

First....eleven of them seem not that bright or intelligent....to the level that I'd probably not conclude a deal or agreement with them in business.

Second, their behavior did not form overnight.  I'd go and suggest this path goes back to the 1980s/1990s, and that they were 'trained' in some way to think/react this way.

Finally....on my index of 'liviability'.....trusting in the state mechanism to function as advertised...probably matters a good bit now.

Tracking The Trackee

I watched a NewsMax piece this AM.....kids are now increasingly turning family location-tracking apps.....back onto the parents.

In the space of ten years....it's surprising how much tracking is taking place today.

By 2036?  I expect the vast number of adults and kids in America to be tracked....as well as most of their pets (horses, dogs and cats). 

I expect almost all new cars sold by 2036....to be tracked and on a national database.

AI Chatter

 This AM....I noted a comment by OpenAI's top guru.  He basically came to suggest/warn....that AI is advancing at such a rate....that it's increasingly difficult for humans to understand what's going on, and how to sustain some type of control.

I watched a podcast last year....where the science-guy suggested that 'shortly' (meaning in a year or two)....for each day of AI computing....it was advancing a full-year into 24 hours.  If you did the crazy-math here....by 2030....AI would be dragging us to some level where 'it' was 1,000 years in advanced knowledge.

Something about this....reminds me of the movie where AI has taken over the human race.

Trying to limit or control this?  How?

Three things I expect shortly:

1.  With census-data and legit license data....AI will determine that 40-odd million Americans are 'faked-up' (non-existent).

2.  Some AI will be able design and run a MLB baseball club.  Another AI will take over umpire-duty....entirely.

3.  AI will shortly start producing new Gilligan's Island, Gunsmoke and Adam-12 episodes.

Poor Farm Definition?

I got onto a reading this AM, and the term 'poor farm' came up.

So to define it....in the 1800s....in the south mostly....this was a invented 'property' where you had Christian folks 'help' people/folks, who could not support themselves, and their families had virtually no interest/willingness to help

So of a dumping ground?  Yeah.

You might use the term a psych ward, without fences or control.  It was usually run/owned by the county itself (County Commission project).

The term 'inmate' came to be used here.

You typically had a guy in charge and a couple of folks who were to keep folks 'minded'.

Who got sent?  Well....older folks with no money....disabled folks....blind or deaf folks....abandoned kids....folks with tuberculosis or syphilis....alcoholics....vagrants....folks judged insane....“feeble-minded” folks....and those who were unmanageable.

The set-up prior to asylums?  Yeah.

These later 'dumped' to bring in asylums....because the poor farm had such a bad reputation?  Yeah.

An all-in-one facility?  I sat and pondered over this.  Asylums were most for nutcases and mentally unstable folks.  

The one clear impression I get over the poor farm....once you entered....you rarely left (unless you escaped).

Pentagon 'Reality'

 Somewhere in the past couple of weeks....the Pentagon called in approximately 50 officers, and did a lie-detector test on them....to figure out who passed classified info out to journalists.

So far.....no one says much.

I'm going to suggest two scenarios likely to occur.

Number one: Virtually all fifty were found to have lied about something.  The detector-crew are likely trying to explain this obvious problem to the Pentagon 'bosses', and it's fairly confusing.  Some probably have affairs going on....some probably chat with journalists weekly but not on classified BS....some probably have financial woes which they'd rather not discuss.

Number two:  All of them (the fifty)....passed.  Now, you have a bigger problem....having to go to the next group of 200-odd folks supporting the fifty.

The odds that ten folks failed the detector test, but having nothing to do with the secret info?  I'd give it better than 50-percent odds.  

Three Humble Thoughts

 1.  This Lindsay Clancy murder case.

I'm overseas, and mostly out-of-the loop.  I did start reading over the case, and court summaries about a month ago....simple murder episode....she killed her three kids.

The question at the time....at least for me....what is the element of crazy?  After 22 years of Air Force reality....I came to a point of having three 'paths' to crazy.  

First, there's crazy by drugs/alcohol....where you did some whacko stuff.  Then there's cult/religion/CIA 'crazy' where they brain-washed you into doing whacko stuff.  Then there's crazy-crazy....where you are born with it, and turn it on-and-off....at your leisure.  The last category....is the guy/gal that you need to fear....because they are permanently a threat to the safety of others.

I'm pretty convinced that Lindsay fits into that category.

So the case ended in a mistrial.  What amazes me....11 were set for 'not-guilty', and one guy had no doubt about the guilt involved.  In 30-odd states....it would have been a couple of hours of talking and everyone convinced she was deserving of life-in-prison.  

2.  Someone brought up the 2008 presidential election, and offered the opinion that illegal voting was probably screwed up and that John McCain likely won.

I paused over this.

Their idea is that Florida, Ohio and Penn....were 'bumped' in some way of illegal voting.

Given a choice of McCain or Obama....I can't say that having McCain around for four years of Presidential 'duty' would have worked well.

3.  This Bartiromo/Fox-News BS.

Well....to be honest....there's only like three journalists still remaining at Fox....which draw me to view their network.

Fantastic 'fall' of the network over ten years.  I'd rate them only a step or two above CNN at this point.

Bernie Says

 Bernie Sanders is pushing a draft bill....that would immediately pause advanced AI development and in some way....ban superintelligence.

How he'd define superintelligence?  Well....that is not very clear.  I'm assuming you'd have a agency in charge....with some Presidential 'rule' to charge-up or charge-down intelligence.

I paused over this.

Would Japan, the EU, Russia, India and China also ban superintelligence?  NO.

Would private groups in the US....build a AI just off-shore (say 20 miles) of the US and sell 'entry' to private Americans?  YES.

Would 'evil' super-intelligence support folks go to Mexico....to establish their AI?  YES.

Bernie....mostly saying that driving a 1970s AMC Gremlin should be the 'limit'?  Well....yeah....comes to mind.

I Tried To Make Sense

 

I sat and read through a piece...'women trying to establish blame for their problems'.

Survey folks had asked age groups of women, from Republicans to Democrats.

Obviously, if you were a Democratic young gal....overwhelming number of gals blame guys for their woes.

My reaction?  If you were a young guy and facing this reality....why would you date/hook-up/marry a young Demo gal?  You might as well look for a Republican gal who is 25 years older than you.

But then something came up in my mind....just how much of woes/sorrows are you lugging around?  Maybe the bulk of young Demo ladies....are carrying 500 pounds of problems. 

Then I came to 'blame'....it just seems like we are ultra-focused these days on blame.  We can't seem to do much except talk about it....throughout the day, and even watch TV shows which focus on blame.

California Law

 California is about to pass a law that says companies of a 'large-size'....must fill out a form and note to the state government if they have connections that go back to slavery (meaning prior to 1865).

AB 2599 applies to California businesses with more than $100 million in annual worldwide revenue and requires sworn disclosures (one assumes by the owner or CEO).

Now....no one so far....has connected the dots to say such a company exists.

Where this leads back to?   Well....there's a state committee in the California State Legislature....that has approved a bill to distribute up to $800 billion for slavery reparations.  One might assume....if you were such a company with a history.....the state would eventually tax you in some way....to cover the $800 billion.

The odd part?  Well....if you just came to exist five years ago....out of thin air....making over $100 million in revenue a year....you'd still have to fill out a form, submit, and have some office review the truthfulness of the statement.

I've pondered over this.  The state has done everything possible to chase commerce out of the state.  There's no real reason to remain.  This slavery topic?  If you quizzed most Californians....asking questions over the region prior to 1865.....they'd know enough to fill out a 5 x 8 inch card.  On the balance of reality....it seems like the state is run by 9-year-old kids.

Eventually....I expect the state to mail out forms to every state resident....asking them if their family owned slaves, and requiring a response.  The smart folks will respond that they came from Mars, and have no connections to Earth prior to 1865. 

My Four Problems With AOC Running For President

First....if you go on a national level....most independents don't give her much of a favorable rating.

Second, basically....she finished college....did some bartending, and got into the House.  On skill-sets....one-to-ten....she's a '3' at best.

Third, most of what she says in interviews.....is far-left stuff....the kind of stuff that older Demos won't support.

Fourth....on debate skills...both Rubio and Vance are ten times better.

VP candidate....maybe, but for who?

Russia Story

 I read through Russian news yesterday...coming to this article....school 'leadership' (nationally) is going to write down a mandate....for Russian kids (age 13) to start getting military training.  Covering: machine guns, anti-tank weapons, grenades, & battlefield medicine.

I pondered over this.

They aren't going to hand active guns, grenades or mines over....it'll be wooden replicas (I believe).  Maybe around age 15....they might hand some pistols/rifles over to take-apart and re-assemble.  

Battlefield wounds?  It's probably a 3-hour course.....you learn who is a 'goner', and who might be capable of surviving.

Wouldn't shock me if by age 16....you get a 8-hour course in tank-driving and basic maintenance every month.

A drastic situation?  I'd suggest that the generals are looking over manpower and grasping that things in the next decade....aren't looking that great.

The Stupid Ideas File Cabinet

 I sat and watched a podcast where AI got brought up....with the stupid ideas file cabinet.

In the real world.....there are tens of thousands of ideas 'branded' was bad each day.  You can categorize them in various ways.

So the idea thrown out there.....AI will eventually find this file cabinet with billions of ideas branded bad, and start to analyze them.....coming to a reality that some percent....maybe 3-percent....maybe 20-percent...are NOT bad ideas, and should be investigated (meaning 5 minutes for AI)

As you start to ponder this....there are likely science papers written in the 1890s....sitting there, and waiting for AI to look over and grasp that the paper has value.  

New discoveries....hour by hour?  That's the basic introduction to this reality.

Whatever you believe is our landscape today.....will get crazy in five years as you start to find AI changing things....not just week by week....but hour by hour.

Ballroom Saga?

 The Supreme Court came to agree (5-4)....the ballroom project now continues.

So to lay out the 'problem'.....it was a 100-percent privately-funded project on day one (Corporations stood up and laid down the cash).

Then....a new added-feature came up. This became a ballroom....with a underground bunker, military facilities, hospital/medical complex, and other “secure basement” elements beneath the ballroom, plus rooftop drone-related features.

This second part....required Pentagon-money to some degree...NOT authorized by the House/Senate.

The argument by the Chief Justice in the court case to halt the project?  He made the point that the House/Senate has some level of ownership and control of federal facilities.  It is a non-valid point....they control funding....NOT facilities.  

To imagine McConnell or Sanders have a say over the number of doors, or windows, or toilets in a federal facility....is silly. 

What was silly for decades?  Every time a Presidential party or ball was held....they either rented a hotel-complex, or put up a rented-tent....hundreds of millions wasted....when the White House should have had a facility on the grounds.

Now things proceed?  I would imagine in a week....another delay will be cranked-up.

My View of the Buc-ee's Success Agenda

 Couple of months ago....on my trip to the US....I spent around 90 minutes at a Buc-ee's.  Yeah, I washed the car.....used their tidy bathroom....walked through the store....and observed the crowd (guessing about 300 folks were in the building).

First, they have 'ease-of-access'....meaning they got the county/state to have an interstate exit....that led directly to the establishment.

Second, lets be honest....a tidy bathroom....nationally....is hard to find.  

Third, the level/amount of gas points....makes it a pretty quick experience.

Fourth, if you were a 700-mile traveler for a day....the enticement is to figure the route where every three hours....there's a Buc'ee's stop.  Fuel-up.....grab some ice-tea....visit the bathroom....buy some snacks.

Every state ending up with at least one?  No.  My view....Oregon, California and Washington....will never have one.  There's probably 12 states like that.  

Killing off the exit-stations?  Well...that is the odd factor.  I would imagine 40-odd gas stations near the interstate-exit....are doomed at this point, and likely failing.
