My Gut Feeling Over Biden's 'Health'

First, I think when you go back to the Thanksgiving-to-New Year's period of 2019...before the intense 2020 primary....I think Joe Biden had a stroke. It wasn't a big deal where hospitalization was required, but I suspect it was bad enough that for a hundred days in early 2020....he was taking tPA, and if you went down the complications of a stroke and the use of tPA....he was showing 'problems'.

Naturally, the news media didn't say anything.

Second.....if you are on a tPA deal.....you aren't supposed to do oxygen treatments unless you meet certain conditions.  I think Joe Biden meets the conditions, and those weekly trips back to Delaware give him the privacy for the combined treatment....to keep him functional and somewhat focused.

Third, thanks to the fact that he was pretty lean (not overweight) and in better condition than most guys at this age....he's continued on down this path.

Now, if you asked me....(I'm not a doctor or a healthcare person)....could he continue campaign in 2024 and run for a 2nd time?  I'd say he'd have to repeat the marginal campaign effort of 2020, and limit himself to just one major day per week of 'action', with weekends spent back in Delaware for his sessions.

For the Democrats, it means he's not really charging up the base for the House/Senate races.  I would be shaking my head and asking for a better choice.

So I'm of the mind....before we get to October 2023....Joe Biden will say he's not running, (avoiding the subject of health) and then the big rush will be on.  But if you were filling out the card of five choices to offer for the Democratic primary....after you cross off Pete Buttigieg and Kam Harris...you don't have much left except AOC and Governor Newsom.

Will this revealing Joe's health ever come out?  I'm of the mind that once he's passed on....a historian will come to reveal the stroke, the treatment, and the whole thing will resemble President Wilson's problems back a hundred years ago.

Finally, the one thing you really don't want to create....is some scenario where Joe Biden does run in 2024....selects a marginal replacement VP (other than Kam), and two months prior to the election....has some massive stroke and is totally out of the campaign entirely.

This one problem....I believe...is what drives the Democratic National 'machine' to be focused on a new candidate.

Texas, The Nation?

Within Texas....legistlation was drafted and sent in for possible passage.  Topic?  Discussing succeeding from the US, and to build a package to explain how it would work.

No.....they aren't succeeding....just discussing the option.

Where this goes?  Some PhD group will go and review everything....from economics to disadvantages, and even the legality of this by the Constitution.

If it went to the second step (say after 2025)?

I would suggest three things:

1.  There would be various legal challenges put forward to the Supreme Court....that they just can't do so.

2.  Some neighbor states would ask the question....couldn't we incorporate ourselves into this Texas-nation?

I would suggest Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama would entertain this concept.

3.  It would be a disaster for states in economic distress presently....like NJ, NY and California.

Will this proceed?  I have serious doubts.  But it a discussion that ought to be laid out and openly discussed.

Twitter Version 2.0

There is version 1.0 of Twitter....before Elon got there, and there is version 2.0 of Twitter....after Elon arrived.

I do agree....it's two entirely different sites.

I saw this piece off the BBC and kinda laughed.

If you felt you needed 'protection' and thought Twitter version 1 was the answer....you were probably in pretty sad shape....thinking they were 'protecting' you.

I'd also suggest that maybe all internet....even those stupid cat videos on YouTube, or the influence videos on Instagram....are hurting you in some ways.  You probably should go back to the Monday night bowling league, and attend church more.

That Odd Fox News Story

There was a story up on Fox today....suggesting that both Al Gore and Hillary Clinton have been contacted by the DNC.....suggesting that they should run.

BS factor?  I'd give it a '6' out of ten.

Issues?

1.  Al Gore?  He turns 75 at the end of the month....he'd be 77 in 2025.  My guess is that he'd have a laugh and then ask why they didn't come to him in 2020?

2.  Clinton?  In October of this year....she turns 76.  Eight years ago, she already had health issues and I would imagine she has added onto them now.

3.  What's going on?  I think the Party would prefer someone else to go into 2024....other than Joe Biden.  I also think that Harris and Pete Buttigieg are now discounted out.  I might suggest that they done the numbers on Governor Newsom and found that he hasn't much of a chance.

4.  Who is left?  AOC....she would be 35 at the end of 2024, and has national attention.  Would the Party be happy with that?  No.

5.  So this whole thing is about a choice.....go with Joe Biden again, or have AOC arrive as a contender?  Yeah....that's my guess.

It's funny in a way....there's not a lot of 4-star characters to replace Joe Biden.

You Remember Bad Fashion

Someone put up this catalog picture, from Pennys, mid-1970s.

At some point, there in this period....my Mom went and bought me a spring-suit, with the pants style you see here (maybe not quiet as bad).

I probably wore the suit no more than four times ever.

It's just a lot of bad fashion sense in this 1970s period.  Flashy colors, mismatching pants with the jacket.

In high school, we had some teacher who had pants like this....that he'd wear once a month.

Four Things I Think Will Occur By 2030

 1.  Between now (2023) and 2030....I suspect more than 1-million kids will officially leave the public school system, and go either private or home-school.  It probably will reach a point where some districts get desperate and attempt state laws to discourage this.

Somewhere in this mix, I'll also predict that 40,000 teachers....some in their 40s to 50s....will be let go.   Some will never teach again, and present a problem for future employment....as companies discover even with a degree....the teachers aren't really that smart or capable.

2.  It'll reach a point where even your ten-year old kid will ask you what the narrative is on such-and-such allowance problem, or curfew violation.

Some idiot will even start up a narrative 'index' to help you better understand the BS you are being told.

3.  Some CBS executive will quietly admit that 60 Minutes hasn't done a single investigative piece in 26 years, and quietly dismantle the show.

4.  Some school fight will end up with a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against the school for failing to protect the student, with the school board unable to resolve this without creating a significant tax on the district.

Why Do We Still Have 'Trump Is The Messiah' Thoughts Even Today?

 Well....it's a tangled-up problem.

First, probably over fifty-percent of American society is skeptical to such a degree....that they've lost complete trust in the news media and the political spectrum (from both the left and right).

Second, people have heard so many promises through the past couple of decades....with the accomplishment level barely at 10-percent....that they want something entirely different.

Third, some people (probably in the 20-percent range) see the Presidency and DC business as a reality show.  To them, Trump makes perfect sense.

Fourth, this rule-book of President statesmanship has been figured out....NOT to be 'rocket-science' (based on both Bush II and Obama).  In fact, one can say from the past twenty-odd years....it's mostly a 'show' with the networks getting some 'script' from someone and juicing up the landscape for the viewer.

Fifth, at some point early on in the Obama administration....after winning the Nobel Prize for Peace....for nothing....it became a weekly thing to proclaim him as a Messiah of some sort.  It was a comical act, but people eventually wised-up and said no matter what Republican came next....he'd be a Messiah as well.

In a way, it's a funny way that we've progressed upon.  It was a comedy show before Trump came along.....all he did was treat it as a authentic reality show....with 'New York' glamor and wit.
