Quote

Nikki Haley quote  from this AM:

“Donald Trump and JD Vance need to change the way they speak about women. You don't need to call Kamala dumb. She didn't get this far just by accident."

I paused over the 'accident' comment.

Yeah, by accident....she met up in her youth with a SF mayor, and he 'lifted' her.

Personally, I keep going back to the idea in 2016....why Trump needed to hire Haley and thinking that was one of his ten key mistakes.

Five Things That Don't Make Much Sense

1. Former VP Republican Dick Cheny came out and said he was advocating for Kamala Harris.  I pondered upon it....across the entire US....his 'talk' probably influences about a hundred people.

2.  Former candidate RFK Jr....came out an said he was advocating for Donald Trump.  I pondered upon it....across the entire US....his 'talk' probably influences around 200,000 voters.

3.  I pondered over this story here in the AM.  There's no doubt in NY City....animal sacrifices are going on.

Maybe for a hundred years....there was some minor rituals.  But now?  It's probably a daily thing.

So, you have to wonder....will the general public just accept this....like all the other weird stuff from the past three or four years?

4.  This debate carrying a lot of weight on Kamala Harris?  Well....yeah.  I don't think she's ever been pushed to this level of 'study' required.  If she simply 'ties' in the debate?  That's enough to carry on.  If she 'loses' the debate?  Election is over and I think Trump wins 35 states  (maybe even Illinois).  It just amazes me that she agreed to this debate.

5.  Bean-counters now say Biden has crossed the 40-percent point....of engaging in vacations or off-time for his presidency.  Considering  the 120-odd days left....he probably will come close to 45-percent.

Americans To Save The Earth: Stop Use Of AC Units?

Some science group came out and urged Americans to halt the use AC units.  I paused over the subject.

My dad was the first generation in family to have both AC in cars, and homes...plus the Post Office.  I was in the group that had 'some' use of AC (at least after 1977).  Our rural school had a AC unit in each room, but they were determined not to use it because of energy cost and noise.

My Air Force period?  I was shocked in boot-camp.....we had a fantastic modern building.

Most of my barracks?  I'd say 75-percet had ZERO AC.

Life here in Germany?  I have a roll-around AC unit and most years....I might run it 12 to 15 days a summer.  This year?  None....it was so moderate.

So I view this urging of Americans to give up their AC....as a lost cause.  You'd have to adapt your clothing style....go to gym shorts....plain t-shirts, and wide use of fans.  Ice coolers loaded with beer?  Yeah.

Asking the Gen-Z folks to give up?  That might be interesting to watch.

Seven Humble Thoughts

1.  People approaching 60, who've had serious panic and anxiety attacks through their entire life....generally find ways to avoid stressful situations or 'pill-up' (medicating themselves).  When they launch into some kind of laugh to relax themselves....it's a self-mechanism to relieve the stress involved.  If this reminds you of anyone....feel free to identify the person.

2.  Just for science reference....E-cars of any type....put out ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) radiation.  At some point....probably ten years down the line...some study will reveal that if you spend more than an hour a day in a E-car....you are dosing up on some fairly negative radiation....causing people to rush out and buy 'reflective' suits to wear while driving.

3.  Rather shocking....summers are hot, and winters are cold.

4.  Just a humble thought....if ABC wrote out their 12 questions for VP Harris....handed them to her, and even gave her a written response to respond with....I'm not sure it'd help.

5.  Before the modern era....you probably had one or two moments of OUTRAGE over your entire life.  Now?  You probably have an OUTRAGE moment every ten days.

6.  There's a Scottish gov't worker....now suing the government....to force them into allowing him to do home-office, period (never showing up at the office).  Reason?  He has a phobia of germs.  He insists his home is the only place where he's safe to be.

7.  Just a crazy thought....the entire construction of the Empire State Building....took 13.5 months.  You plan and execute any plan like this today....it'd take 40 months minimum.

Five Things That Don't Make Sense

 1.  The economy is currently 'great'....meaning under President Biden....yet the media message under the Harris campaign?  It basically says that Kamala is going to 'fix' the economy.

2.  Whenever a Law Enforcement official says 'he was on our radar'.....it's usually 24 hours after someone was killed.

3.  The lady-mayor of Moscow up and gave $3.5-million to Hunter Biden.  To this day...no one knows what the 'gift' was for.

4.  Dick Cheney saying he'll vote for Kamala Harris.

5.  Seems to be a huge deployment going on in NY City with National Guardsmen in the city (probably near 1,000).  They seem to be riding the subway system....90-percent of the time.

Ten Things That Amaze Me In This Modern Era

 1.  In 1975, you might have observed or listened to three discussions/debates in a normal week via TV or radio.  Today, you can observe or listen to thirty discussions/debates per day.

2.  Your typical car in 1977 probably had 15 'functions'.  A car today?  It probably has over 400 'functions'.

3. You could have walked through a Piggly Wiggly grocery in 1975 and noted 12 fruits.  Today?  There's probably forty fruits, and half of them come from beyond the US/Mexico region.

4.  In a typical grocery store of 1975....you probably had four types of wattage for  bulbs.  Today, there are six to eight color tones, at least 15 different wattage selections, and ten different functions.

5.  You can be sitting on a broke farm tractor in a Georgia field....conversing with some farmer sitting in Iowa about the problem...define the part required, and then call some parts dealer in Kansas....who will hand  it off to Fedex by 5 PM.

6.  You can go to a on-line board and survey the 300 hotels around Tampa....looking for particular room and hotel, with sixteen qualifications.  In 1977, you were looking purely for a room without any expectations.

7.  Vape-smokes....having a unique flavor (like vanilla E-smokes).  Who would have thought that vanilla e-smokes would be preferred.

8.  A grocery aisle having 150 choices of soda today....compared to 1975, where there were sixteen choices of soda.

9.  Goof-ball politicians....are still goof-ball politicians....doesn't matter if we were talking 1974 or 2024.

10.  NBA basketball peaked around 1986 to 1992, and we've never reached that level since then. (When Larry Bird retired, the league was doomed)

That Podcast

This week, I wasted about 20 minutes watching this Tucker Carlson interview with the historian Darryl Cooper....who gave a talk on 'evil' Winston Churchill and presented some alternate excuses for Hitler and Nazi Germany.

At some point, I just started laughing.....it was a case of crappy history.

I see this occasionally....where someone tries to view the Nazi era and the Holocaust...by only talking from the 1920s on....skipping roughly 2,000 years of European and Roman history.

It is one of the few times with the Carlson podcasts....that he got some crappy historian on, and gave them a chance to present bogus history.

Once the tribes were unable to resist the Romans....this opened the path to authority of Rome over the region, started commerce, set up taxation, and the disgruntled Germanic tribes were to be affected in various ways....which Jewish traders were a integral part of.

As for the interview having any value?  No....it's one of the rare times that I'd tell you to avoid something.
