Mental Topic

 President Trump this week....issued a new executive order that will essentially override the laws that closed the mental asylums in the 1960s.

So....states will have this ability involuntarily re‑institutionalize people deemed a danger to themselves or others.

I looked it up....back in 2016....the Bureau of Justice Statistics did a survey....what they say....is that 37-percent of state and federal prisoners have a history of mental illness.  They either did stupid crap to get in jail, or some judge determined that they were a danger and jail was the best place to house them.

If you use the numbers (state/federal)...there's a million-plus who probably should be in a mental unit....than jail.

But why stop there?  There's probably around 1-million-plus folks who are severely addicted, and living out on the street.  They should also be housed in a mental unit.

My prediction?  I see three things happening.

First, if you live in Oregon, Washington, or California....nothing will occur for the next five to ten years.  If you live in Alabama, South Carolina or Florida....there's likely to be 100,000 folks to be committed, and you start to observe crime decreasing, and the murder-rate on a decline.

Second, as time goes by.....we  will find it fairly easy to have a relative committed....with most states creating a special group of judges to handle cases like this.

Third, we will have a 2028 political topic....where Democrats are desperately trying to free the poor-crazy people,  and no one really buying into this agenda.

Three Odd Things About Epstein (Now That He's Dead)

 1.  This year....some information came up and lays down a path of money transfer....with Epstein's millions....going through Russian banks.  Hundreds of millions?  Yeah.

Why? Unknown.

Was he buying something?  No evidence.

2.  Epstein’s close contacts in Russia?  Well....Sergei Belyakov, a graduate of the FSB Academy and former Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development, who later headed the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF)....was a 'friend'.

3.  Connections to Moscow 'models'?  This comes up often....that he continually had them for services.

All of this suggesting that FSB might have been his  'bosses'?  No....just that he knew banks, models, and FSB 'players'.

Eight Things I Might Admit

 1.  Over the past decade, if you'd drawn me into a talk, and suggested to me some NPR facts....I would have regarded you as fairly biased, and easily manipulated.

2.  If your state is paying $20,000 per school kid (out of taxes), and can't readily explain pronouns in general, can't read at his school level or the next one down, and seems to be lost on math....the $20,000 is being flushed down the toilet (daily).

3.  Jerome Powell (Fed 'boss')....is probably over his head.

4.  Former CIA 'boss' Brennan...is probably going to jail.  

5.  I'm kinda surprised that both Time and Newsweak still exist.

6.  If you have a list of 20 things that might trigger you...into a emotional fit....you might want to find some Pacific isle and just resign from life.

7.  I think both SF, LA and Minneapolis will be at the Detroit-level within two years.

8.  The only shocker to come out of the Owens/Macron court case....is that Mrs Macron has had 20-odd plastic surgical events, and is 100-percent woman (from day one on).

This Cambodia/Thailand 'War'?

If you haven't noticed in the past month....there's a bit of chaos brewing between Thailand and Cambodia.  

Cause?  This is mostly over a LONG-standing border dispute....near the ancient Khmer temples (Preah Vihear and Ta Moan Thom)....located along their 817km shared border. 

This argument started out about 110 years ago.....where a 1907 map that Cambodia uses to claim territory, which Thailand says is inaccurate. 

Every 10 to 20 years....tensions rise....with military clashes, with significant incidents in 2008–2011 and here again in 2025. 

Yesterday....heavy fighting broke out near the Ta Moan Thom Temple, involving gunfire, artillery, and Thai airstrikes on Cambodian military targets. Thailand says there were 14 deaths (mostly civilians) and dozens wounded, while Cambodia reported one civilian death. 

What's likely to happen?  Any minute now....Trump will see the stuff on TV....call up both countries, and ask if he can help stop the 'war'.  

The odds that the 1907 map (drawn by the French)....is incorrect?  Well....that would be a curious thing to focus on.  

Since Yesterday

 Since yesterday....this intel release of information concerning Hillary Clinton has been on my mind.....suggesting that she was “allegedly on a daily regimen of heavy tranquilizers.”

The timeline?  (2008 to 2016 is implied).

So I've been pondering this.

I worked with a intel-officer (mid-80s) who'd been a successful psychologist in Florida from the early 1970s to 1979.  

We got to talking one day, and I asked him....why enter the Air Force, if you were successful.

Well....he told this 10-minute long story.  After college, and getting licensed....he found this nifty clinic that paid well, but he was the junior-junior psychologist for them, and they had a particular 'group' of customers that he needed to serve....a group of more or less.....about 120 women.

These were women ranging from 30 to 60....housewives of successful businessmen in Miami.  What they basically needed....was a hour-long session about every two months, with a prescription to be filled (mostly Valium).  

About three months into this era.....he came to the realization that they were mostly doped-up for the majority of the day....very disgruntled and often unable to handle 'reality'.  At some point, he discussed this matter with the 'boss' of the clinic....that maybe it'd be better to focus the women on leaving the husband and getting a divorce.   He was told in blunt words....this was not the desire of the clinic to meddle in such things.

So for about four years, he made the best of the situation.   He did clear a fair amount of income for the period, and one day...asked the Air Force recruiter about jobs.....anything except medical stuff.  His Spanish was perfect, and he seemed to have a good understanding of Latin American politics (his dad came from Columbia).

This brings me back to the tranquilizer story.  Looking at things...how Bill brought Hillary to  Arkansas to be part of this campaign effort....I think Hillary got fairly disgruntled about the Little Rock situation, and the lack of intellectuals around the 'circle'.   It wouldn't shock me if a year into this effort.....she found some doctor like my associate, and got set up with Valium.  Probably every five years....they introduced a new (better) drug, and she progressed.  

Will any of this tranquilizer story get traction?   No.  If you were to review CNN, NPR, ABC, or CBS.....none of them will mention this story.  

Any of this really mattering today?  I would imagine.....if Hillary had won in 2016 and 2020....we would have endeared eight years of lite-headed Hillary....saying some goofy things (like Kam), and just accepted things as being 'normal'. 

Four Things

 1.  When you sit and think about the 'antics' done by Team-Obama in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2014....if this were a 'play', it would involve more than 300 'actors', over 600 pages of script, and requires close coordination with a dozen news media outlets.

So, if the AG gets serious....there will have to be at least five special prosecutors, and spread out to cover more than one-hundred different topics.

Only my humble view....you haven't seen much of anything yet.  

Oh, and the people who planned out 6-Jan, and did the Congressional BS?  Yeah...even they are connected and will likely be dragged into a grand jury.  If their stories fail....just on that stupidity....they will do a couple of months of jail-time.

2.  Is Colbert going to last to spring of 2026?

I doubt it.  CBS doesn't have much wiggle-room.  But I think once Colbert reaches maximum insult potential on Trump.....a new legal case will start, and CBS will have to send Colbert into some suspended status, with a replacement figure to cover the remaining 10 months.  Lawsuit against Colbert?  Figure $10M to $20M.  Whatever he made for profit the past decade....might be at risk.

3.  If you make the case of Biden being on Ambien somewhat in the past four years....wouldn't the same suggestion occur for Kamala Harris over the last sixty days of her campaign?

4.  Maybe not page one news....but acting US attorney for Minnesota says the state government of Minnesota conducted fraud exceeding $1-Billion.

May require a full year of investigation, but it would  appear more than 20-odd folks are going off to fed-prison....probably for more than ten years.

Three Things

 1.  Was Stephen Colbert 'ever' funny?  

I would argue in the first three seasons of The Colbert Report (existing from 2005 to 2014)...he had a 'gimmick' and it was new 'stuff'.

Toward the last two or three seasons...I thought the 'gimmick' had peaked...so it was shocker to me that CBS would be stupid enough to hire the guy in 2015 to be the late-night guy.  What appealed to the network...was this idea that he'd draw younger viewers.  That idea faded.....as the numbers talked about in the last week indicate virtually no plus-up from day one on younger viewers.

What's left at this point?  Mostly a disgruntled Colbert...seeing no future beyond spring of 2026, and a CBS footnote about his era.....noting it mostly as a failure.  He'll run a podcast show....probably making one-thirtieth of his previous pay-scale.  

2.  Should there be a honesty-policy by networks....telling you the show you are watching, the cost-to-produce, and the ad-revenue factor?

Look, if they went down this path....you'd eventually come to realize that NFL football is the only thing keeping 40 TV shows on the air.

3.  What happens to Zelensky of Ukraine in the 'end'?

At some point....either with Putin gone, or massive public anger in Ukraine......Zelensky has to go, or get terminated by some Army folks.  Who would accept Zelensky?  The US might go and accept the guy.  Course, if he lifts 30 suitcases of dollars as part of his situation....there might be questions.
