“I wanted to play lacrosse, but you had to choose between lacrosse and football. You couldn’t play both in the same season.”
-- President Biden (yesterday)
Normally, I don't follow that many comments of what he says. But I paused over this.
Traditionally in college football....it's strictly a fall sport. You might have some training camp episodes in July, but it's mostly over by December, unless your team gets into NCAA bowl games.
For lacrosse? Well....it's an odd sport. Training might start in January, and actual games (at least in NCAA action) start in February, with the season over by Memorial Day weekend.
The League business? It's different from NCAA lacrosse.....their season would start end of May (with training camp for most of May), and the season would end around the last week of August. Playoffs? Well....it's the whole month of September.
Joe being confused? If you were in college-level play....he's BSing you. You could play both sports although it makes little sense if you were better at baseball than lacrosse. If you were in amateur non-college lacrosse....Joe is telling you the complete truth, and you can't mix/match the two sports.
Do I know that much about lacrosse? No. In my Air Force years, I had a roommate who got into it. At one point, he got himself convinced for about a year to participate in seven different sports.
