It came up this week in DC....that some company is asking for permission to run robo-taxi service.
Naturally, there is a pro-robo group and anti-rob group.
My bet? The city council will assign some commission and try to delay it....maybe for several years.
Odd factor? Well....they are only asking for DC permission....not Virginia or Maryland. So if you tasked robo to serve you....it's only to get from one part of DC....to another part.
People entering....having to show a credit card? Yeah, that's probably part of the story....NO cash.

I saw a vehicle interior surveillance video of a chunky brown gal in a WHITE wedding-dress.
She called for an Über/Lyft to get her to her wedding...
... and partway to the church, sitting in the vehicle as the WHITE driver is driving her to her wedding...
... she texts to his dispatcher her cancellation of the ride she was already in.

Immediately, the WHITE driver is notified of her cancellation and asks her if she cancelled the order...
... and the gal admits the cancellation, but wants him to continue -- WORKING AS HER SLAVE WITHOUT PAY -- "...because I need you to get me to my wedding!"

The WHITE driver dumped her tonnage alongside the road and departed...
