Dog Story

 

I noticed off Twitter....someone put up their school yearbook, and in the middle....you will notice among the teachers....Payton, the therapy dog.

If you'd suggested in 1975....that schools would 'harness' up dogs and make them some official part of the school 'system'....folks would have generally laughed at you.

Yet, we've developed into a society where therapy is a day-to-day thing, and maybe you got ten kids in the school who can't handle reality unless Payton brings them to the work required.

I live in Germany, and you see an awful lot of people who take their dogs with them....while shopping, or out at a restaurant, or while sipping a coffee at some cafe.

This week, I stood and watched some dog battle on a street.....two owners.....two dogs who were fairly confident of their status in life and a four-star fight while owners were trying to drag the dogs away from each other.  Best entertainment of the week, I will admit.

I'm not really anti-therapy dog,  but I'm just not much for pro-therapy dog either.  The dog is there mostly to chill your kid out.....getting empathy rates adjusted.  For that, it's a positive thing.

What I do find funny....it's always the 'nice' breed of dog that gets the job.  Zero chance of a German Shepard getting the job.  Also very unlikely that a Border Collie getting the job because they'd want to 'herd' you into a situation.  

Twelve Things

 1.  Liz Cheney.  Another interview this week....talking over Wyoming politics, stupid Wyoming Republican people who have pledged 'loyalty' to Trump, and suggesting there is a 'cult' existing around Trump.

You get the impression that she wakes up each morning and is consumed by Trump.  She can't believe that Wyoming has shifted.  I would go and suggest that she put herself on a landscape that further to the left of typical Wyoming voters  (20 years ago), and thought that they'd slide that direction to be 'civilized' and less conservative.  More or less....that logic has failed.  

2.  President Biden going to Saudi Arabia?

Well....yeah.  There's zero cooperation from the Saudis at present, and Joe thinks he can personally show up and get them on his page of logic.  

They might be marginally friendly, but this is comical routine and Joe might be shocked at their blunt talk.....that Trump was a better person to deal with.  It'll take a lot to control his talk and not insult them.

3.  Why is 18 or for that matter....age 21....the mythical age of maturity?  

There are some idiots walking around at age forty....that I'd question their maturity.  At  the same time....there are some 14-year-old kids that I'd give them full-up maturity status.  

Whole lot of chatter on this subject suddenly.

4.  Does anyone who watches South Park.....get freaky about 'trigger warnings', safe spaces, or 'special' words that unhinge themselves?

I just can't see the regular viewer of South Park falling into this pit of 'woe'.

5.  Cops in DC arrested some idiot with a BB-gun and fake police badge this week.  Hard to say what the charges will be.  Maybe if he was waving the fake badge around....that's probably something to get you 90 days in jail.

6.  Some computer folks who are into AI situations....woke up and realized that their AI system was starting to make up it's own words (for animals) and was designing a language beyond what they were programed to do.

Yeah, it's scary stuff to wonder about.  Begs the question over the code-writer....if they told 'Larry' (the AI) that society always has its own language.  

7.  Politico wrote up a piece this week on Congressman Kevin McCarthy (Republican).  So the question they posed.....is McCarthy a dimwit?  

Around seven years ago, I started to follow  interviews and round-table action with McCarthy, and eventually came to the conclusion that he just wasn't that bright.  He's not stupid.....but he's like the kid who marginally passed via class and got points for showing up/never missing class, and looking well dressed (I'd give high scores on attire).

So here's the thing....some folks think he'll be Speaker of the House in January as the Republicans win big-time.  Some folks are now worried about having a second consecutive 'dimwit' (Pelosi being the first) in this job.

Personally, I think it's come time to exercise what is offered in the Constitution.....having a non-elected guy/gal to be House Speaker and just there to keep things organized.  

8.  If your mind is offering up bewildering, contradictory or freaky thoughts....you might need to take a minute or hour....to chill out and think about consequences.  

9.  You ever noticed that as folks talk about 'LONG COVID'.....no one ever talks about 'long boozing', 'long chubbiness' or 'long mental disease'?  

I'm not saying long Covid doesn't exist, but if you put some status to it.....then you have to bring mental disease having some long-status as well.

10.  Someone brought up this topic....but apparently President Biden had promised major gun-control legislation on day one of his entering office.  

11.  Joe Rogan said this week: "This country has a mental health problem disguised as a gun problem, and a tyranny problem disguised as a security problem." 

He's pretty much correct.  

12.  Top questions of 2022?  What is a man, and what is a woman.

Seriously, we've hit some brick wall, and lost some braincells.
