As of last night (Tuesday), the California primary has YET to end. They still have around 166,000 ballots to count.....two weeks after the election ended.
Yes, it was actually quicker to count in the 1960s....than it is today.
So I have this idea.
I suggest that there should be a way that you walk in and put your ballot down (on voting day), and put down a $40 fee. They then guarantee your vote being counted within 12 hours after the closure.
If they fail to count the ballot.....you get your $40 fee returned, and 12 hours after that...for each day they fail to wrap up your ballot.....you get another $10. After ten days, the 12-hour fee goes up to $25.
The state still screwing up? I would imagine to earn your $40 fee up close....they'd work their butt off to ensure they made profit.
