Humble View of the Tennessee Events of the Past Two Weeks

First, for those who aren't really aware of the political landscape of Tennessee......it's a remarkably conservative state.  Even if you claim Democratic status....there's probably thirty issues where you lean more to the right of the spectrum, than the left.

I would add....the state is bundled-up and probably has a minimum of three divisions (I'd put Memphis in a region by itself....as well as the Nashville-circle).

Second, if I were to guess on AR ownership per 100,000 residents (the statistic doesn't exist officially)....I'd say the state ranks near the top three on AR-ownership.  I'd also suggest that from LE folks in the state....it wouldn't shock me if nine out of ten had ownership of a AR rifle.

Third, on the events at the state-house?  There are a list of rules, expectations and expectations of order.  All fifty states have such rules.  These three characters who violated the rules?  Either they never read the material and just thought no one would dare kick them out.

Fourth, large crowds showing up to demonstrate?  So far, from the images I've seen (up to Thursday afternoon)....none of the crowds have been over 1,500 people.  For a NCAA basketball championship game....you get ten times that number in Knoxville.

Fifth, trying to make a black 'event' out of the state-house business?  Maybe, but the last time I checked on Hispanics in the state....they were near 10-percent of the population...compared against 16-percent for Blacks. In another decade?  I would imagine Hispanics will be the number one minority in the state.

Six, all of this chatter, disruption, and theatrics.....going back to a mentally unstable Trans-person?  Yeah, and when you sit in a room of just working class Tennessee people....they simply shake their heads....this has become a reality TV show with a bit of drama attached.

Seventh, this speech given by Justin Jones (one of the those expelled)?  It's an odd speech with an accent that seems more theatrical than actual.

Eighth, the bull-horn use in the assembly?  Strictly 4th-grade type behavior.

Ninth, the comment by Justin Pearson (one of the expelled legislative folks) saying that Jesus was crucified for the LGTBQ community?

For the over-40 black community....that probably triggered them to back away and mute Pearson from this point on.

Final view?  Lets be honest as tens of thousands of Californians left their state, and resettled in Tennessee....they brought different aspects of their life with them.  Tennessee now has to deal with this new reality.

There is a word that I have never heard before, inserting it self in news articles on the internet, on a fairly consistent basis. TROON: A derogatory term, usually applied to transgender women, that implies both that they are their assigned gender at birth and that they are misappropriating transgender identities; similarly to the word 'trender.' A portmanteau of 'trans' and 'goon.'

Troon
1) The term to denote, mostly male individuals, that appropriate the Transgender identity in order to shield themselves from criticism or past bad/criminal behaviour.
2) May also be used by trans exclusionary individuals to slur all transgender people without exception.

A girl that looks like she used to be a man. Not an actual transvestite, a real girl that looks like a transvestite. They are about 6 foot tall, wear loads of make up and false eyelashes. The act mannish and drink pints.

Blend of transgender +‎ goon (“member of Something Awful”) or transgender + loon (“crazy person”).

I hadn't even heard that word before, I had to look it up. According to Google it seems to be a slur for a transgender person who is not perceived to be passable as their identified gender.

I Used To Be A Normal Person
I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white, into a two-parent household which now, whether I like it or not, makes me privileged, a racist, and responsible for slavery.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a fascist because I plan, budget, and support myself.

I went to Grammar School and have always held a job. But I now find out that I am not here because I earned it, but because I was "advantaged."

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me homophobic.

I am not a Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel.

I am older than 60, making me a useless dinosaur who doesn't understand Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat.

I think, reason, and doubt most of what the ‘mainstream’ media tells me, making me a Right-wing conspiracy nut.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive culture, making me a xenophobe.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair reward according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I believe our system guarantees freedom of effort, not freedom of outcome or subsidies, which must make me a borderline sociopath.

I believe in the defense and protection of my nation for and by all citizens, now making me a militant.

I am proud of our flag, what it stands for, and the many who died to let it fly, so I stand during our National Anthem - so I must be a radical.

Funny - it all took place over the last decade! If all this nonsense wasn't enough to deal with, now I don't even know which toilet to use... and these days I gotta go more frequently!

Troon can be a verb though....indicating that you are going through a period of far extreme boredom (nearing depression), and having a sense of restlessness about you. Verbal use: I felt trooned all day.

According to Dean Wormer of Faber College in the 1978 classic NATIONAL LAMPOON'S ANIMAL HOUSE, a miscreant could be put on the dreaded 'double-secret troon'.
.
And that sort of behavior gets noted on Your Permanent Record...
