I sat and read through a paragraph-long story which goes to a comment by John Fetterman's wife (he's a candidate for Senator in Penn). She said in a blunt statement....that even swimming is racist.
I pondered over this for a while.
How do you logically come to a view of racism being a feature of swimming? You might make the statement that only whites know how to swim....because they hang out at pools. Statistical proof? Zero. If you live in the inner-city of Baltimore.....as for pool attendees....it's probably a 7-to-1 black to white situation. Same story for New Orleans.
Back around three years ago, someone did a statistical review and said that almost two out of three black kids can't swim. Course, this was a national type survey, and generally avoided just collecting on highly urbanized areas like Chicago or Detroit.
If you went to dirt poor communities in West Virginia, and asked on whites knowing how to swim? No one cites numbers, but I'd take a wild guess that fewer than 10-percent of white kids know how to swim in that particular region. If you applied polling in Alaska? Ha....I bet fewer than 5-percent of white Alaskan kids know how to swim.
People taking this Fetterman statement as bogus? I think they will mostly laugh and just not take it as a absolute sure statement.
