Sadly, years ago, I got into the TV wrestling stuff. I realize it's all fake....but it is pure entertainment.
This past week....the Hulk Hogan divorce episode went into turbo. His wife, Linda.....has been trying to put Hulk down on the mat in various ways. So she came out with this accusation that Hulk had a gay thing with fellow wrestler Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake.
It is true that they wrestled on various occasions, and likely thrown each other down on the mat in various positions, but I doubt that they ever got into a physical sort of situation. Hulk fell on the floor laughing when this came out. Hulk then came out and said her comments come mostly because her career is lagging and this is about the only way to get media attention.
In some ways, this is simply wrestling mat-talk, that has crossed over from the ring, to personal lives. I think most of these people get addicted to mat-talk and fantasy wrestling themes.....and it just lives on in various other ways.
Course, now....a bunch of gay guys will have this active fantasy of Hulk Hogan being gay. Who knows....maybe this was planned. You might see more wrestling fans come out to events....who are there to watch their fantasy guy Hulk wrestle with some other guy.
