LA Riot Video

I  probably watched about 75 minutes today of LA 'non-violent peaceful' protests.....mostly of police cars being damaged....break-in's of shops, and crowds engaged in urbanized 'peaceful' warfare.  This also included interviews with political folks, city leaders, etc.

So five observations.

1.  Each time I see the Mexican flag waved (probably in 40 shots today)....I get the impression of insurrection and revoluution....so if you were a US politician or city leader...trying to bring me to your 'side'....you need to do something over the Mexican flag business.

2.  It's only a matter of time before some violence is conducted against the LA police folks, and the mayor is stuck into a mess where they have take action.

3.  Curfew?  I'd lock down the affected area.....6 PM. Anyone out....grab them, and bring them to a curfew warehouse until 7 AM the next day.

4.  The ONLY people who ICE was committed to haul in (at least originally)...were the ones with police records and noted for bad behavior in the past.

5.  At some point.....local business operations will start to show weapons and suggest reactions.

You Aren't In A Civil War If.....

You aren't in a Civil War if....your post-man/woman still delivers.

You aren't in a Civil War if.....your McDonalds still offers the full menu.

You aren't in a Civil War if.....CNN tells you most protests are peaceful (even if it looks otherwise).

You aren't in a Civil War if.....Amazon still delivers to your house.

 You aren't in a Civil War if.....the View TV program doesn't feature a nation-X and nation-Y edition.

You aren't in a Civil War if.....the NFL season is running along like normal.

Three Observations

 1.  This idea suggested that at least twenty other urban 'zones' (Portland, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta mentioned) will be 'civil-chaos' areas?  There's a story or two this AM suggesting a list floating around.

I pondered upon this.  The amount of manpower required?  You'd have to gauge the situation and suggest at least a thousand nutcases/revolutionary types....being able to show up and present 'muscle'.

In each case (well...except Seattle and Portland)....the local and state authorities would be supported by 1,000 to 2,000 National Guard troops.  In the Seattle/Portland scenario....I think the President would allow both to burn the cities as much as possible, and injure the local police enough to dismantle via injury-retirement the entire police force.  But for the remainder...if I do the numbers....there's likely to be 50,000 to 75,000 protest folks arrested by mid-July and each might be facing a minimum of five years in prison.

Manpower-wise....on the revolutionary scale....the crew will have burned through their manpower situation.

2.  Each time the CNN crew utter 'mostly peaceful' protests....Trump's crew will counter that the fed LE folks/National Guard....are also reacting in 'mostly peaceful' ways.

Ninety-five percent of Americans will get used to it, and always utter 'mostly-peaceful' whenever they speak on the topic....eventually infuriating Democrats.

3.  Around the 15th of June, the Mayor of LA will finally grasp that via sales tax reports....the revenue collection for LA in a typical June....will be about half the normal take.

Tourism numbers will also show a problem...with cancellations of hotel reservations at a all-time level.

This Week As Parents Get A Call From "Ricky' In California

Starting this week....I expect around 500 American folks to be detained by the federal authorities for violent behavior and accused of riot crimes.

Most will be shocked, and call 'mom' to ask for help to get out of jail.

Questions will be asked....how'd you get into jail....did you really throw bricks at the police....who were you associated with?

'Mom' will get dad involved, and then some lawyer, and bail-bondsman.

The shock of a million-dollar bond?  Yeah, that will come up rather quickly.

So the lawyer will talk to 'Ricky', the prosecution folks and come to realize that if they press on all charges and get a guilty situation....it could be a minimum of 10 years of prison for little 'Ricky'.

Eventually, a 'deal' will be made....'Ricky' lists the people who paid him (probably in the $8,000 a week range, and that there were some drugs involved....so he might have been drugged-up when he made these mistakes).  'Ricky' will do five years of prison...in a nice unit in some fed unit in Florida.

The thing is.....as days go by....the best deals are the ones done early on.....with the no-deals being the norm by August, and guys doing 12 to 15 years of fed-prison....in places like Nevada or New Mexico.

By the end of July....I figure at least 2,000 sets of parents to have the 'Ricky' conversation and find that all the best advice they gave....was tossed into the wind.

Quote Story

I saw this yesterday, and it's been on my mind.  Calvin was president from 1923, to March 1929.....leaving six months before Wall Street fell apart.

What most people don't grasp....from 1920 to the fall of 1929....the US was in constant financial turmoil...with speculation going rampant.

When he made this statement....he was mostly aiming at Congress trying to build regulations....to control speculation.

The chaos going beyond Wall Street?  Well....that's the odd part that we tend to miss today....there was massive property sales going on in California and Florida during his era, and guys at times were doubling their investment money in a matter of just a year.
