Another Trump Priority

I saw this today.  It's been on my mind.  I lived in Arlington, VA across from DC, Jan 2010 to July 2013.  My six points:

First, it's an odd factor.....there's homelessness in DC, and across the area in Maryland.  But in Fairfax, Arlington and Alexandra (all Virginia)....it's awful hard to find homelessness.

At the bus-stop one day....two former homeless folks (residents of Arlington) told me the basic story.....cops in Virginia will treat you as 'problems' and give you a choice.....you get treatment, or leave the city.  Both ended in alcohol rehab, and in controlled dorms.

Second, DC homeless population?  It's generally figured in the 4,100 to 4,500 range.

Third, you can divide the group into five categories: (1) druggies, (2) paranoid shizophrenic folks, (3) severe alcoholism (to the level that they burned out most brain cells), (4) individuals with no income skills to handle housing, and (5) military folks with PTSD and no real help from the VA.

Fourth, you could pick up 100 folks a day, and put them through a line....establishing forced rehab/treatment, or a compound situation for the remainder of your life.  I'd be blunt...staying on the street is no longer your option (or you need to leave for NY City asap).  It'd take about three months to clear the problem, or put them on someone else's street.

Fifth, I'm fairly skeptical that the homeless charity groups are doing much constructive....except have management folks with high salaries.

Sixth, a lot of the crazies and the druggies....all fall into the same 'path', and mostly need a controlled lifestyle for the remainder of their life.

Three Humble Thoughts

 1.  All this chatter of Trump revising the Cannabis/weed/grass/pot rules....bringing  it to the level of booze?

If you had simply the type or lesser-weed that existed in the 1960s/1970s/1980s....I wouldn't say much.  That was low-grade THC  (meaning less than 14-percent on the content level of THC).

But we emerged out of the 1980s with commercialization...with THC levels of 50-to-90 percent.

The 1980s guy could get a buzz....sleep a bit better....over-eat  on occasion, and cut back on pain.

The 2020 guy with the high THC level weed....cognitive impairment?  Well...if he were a electrical technician, or a mechanical engineer....he's probably by the 5th year of regular use...not  going to be at his top level.

The 2020 guy with the high THC level weed....psychosis or paranoia?  Well...yeah, the  risk goes up with occasional problems....like thinking that dogs talk, his neighbor is an alien, or that the wife is hooked up with the minister.

The 2020 guy with the high THC level weed....experiencing anxiety on a weekly basis?  Yeah, there will be some point....where certain things will trigger this gal....to have anxiety, or panic attacks.  It might be the Piggly Wiggly clerk asking about your health, or some gas-station clerk noting your tires seem low, or your doctor asking about your drinking habits.

2.  I'm about 50-50 in belief now on the idea that Senator Adam Schiff has both a California and Maryland license/ID, and probably registered to vote in both.  If true, he has to be tossed from the Senate.

3.  DOGE will be doing a complete audit of US funding to Ukraine.  I'll just go and predict...50-percent will not be accountable (just dissolved into thin air).
