What Was the Arrest of Myanmar's President About?

Over the past week, I've chatted some over Myanmar and it's coup.  One of the chief events from Monday was the arrest of the President of the country (Aung San Suu Kyi).

So what was the crime?

If you go and dig through all the chatter....it comes down to military authorities arriving at her house (Presidential residence) and conducting a raid.  The find?  Six walkie-talkies.

That's it?  Yeah.

Illegally imported walkie talkies?  Yep.

She basically broke the import-export law of Myanmar.

The sentence if convicted?  Three years.

Were these even professional types or just the cheapo Radio Shack type?  Unknown....no one talks about the exact brand.

Can you imagine this scene for the impeachment of Trump.....finding six walkie-talkies in his closet and dragging him up or impeachment over that?  These Myanmar guys?  Once you inject this into the discussion....these coup guys look like comedians to some degree.

How'd the President even use the walkie talkies?  Unknown.  Maybe she directed her gardener in the yard.....maybe she was yelling at the cook over the choice of dinner for the evening....maybe she had some kids over at the house who played 'secret-spy' games in the backyard and these were theirs.

Kind of comical if you think about it.
